Was discovered by the check engine light on" It caused reduced performance, but no other problems. "The turbocharger waste gate fell off and had to be replaced. New part was installed and hasn't had repeat issue." Engine would decrease in power level to less than 1/2 speed. It was still under warranty, but it was in shop for extended period of time due to strike. Said probably the turbo but keep driving until it fails. We were very satisfied with the dealership and only lost about 3 to 4 hours of time." It was fixed under the powertrain warranty at a Buick dealership in 2.5 hours. "Bearing failed while on vacation driving through Santa Fe, NM. "The vehicle started chugging at lower speeds and when stopped." "All four pistons were cracked and the engine was using a lot of oil." The electronic screen is cumbersome to operate and the voice control is very bad - frequently does not understand who you want to call." "This 2014 model has much worse electronic dashboard than my 2015 General Motors car. "Calls coming in are slow motion and garbled" Who knows what caused this? We will probably never know." Then for no apparent reason one day when my husband was driving along, the radio popped on. My husband decided to not replace the radio/system. He was told the whole system would need to be replaced for about $1800. My husband took it into the dealer to have it checked out. "The radio stopped working (don't know why) and did not work for about 6-7 months. "I set up pairing but when I leave the car and return it does not automatically resume pairing at times" The unit is MUCH better, but occasionally displays errors and gives erroneous directions." and reprogramming the software repeatedly. The Buick dealer has worked on it repeatedly in clouding changing the unit, the antenna, etc. "From time to time, the cursor (representing the Encore’s current position) is anywhere from a few hundred feet to maybe a half a mile off. The whole unit has been replaced twice, the antenna once, the coupler once and it had been reprogrammed a number of time. "The GPS unit has been back to the dealer at least twelve (12) times. The cursor on the screen is up to a half a mile from where it should be." We made a trip to Texas last October and, again, it lost where it was and gave all kinds of unnecessary instructions. It is much better now than it was in the beginning but still goes nuts from time to time. It then goes "crazy" giving all sorts of directions to get back on the programmed road - when it is on the programmed road all the time. It is much better, but still occasionally thinks it is up to half a mile off from the road I am driving on. They replaced the software a number of times. They replaced various components at different times. In the first four years, I took it back to the dealer at least 20 (twenty) times. "I noticed the problem when the car was only a week old. Outdated not as functional as most foreign cars" I had it in the dealer 5 or 6 times - they replaced the antenna, a connector and finally the whole radio/GPS - and that fixed it" "Within days of purchasing this Encore new in late Nov 2014, I realized the GPS did not always pick up the satellite. "Sometimes when the day is cloudy or when I drive into a shadow the car seems to think that it is night and the screen goes so dim that I can't see anything"Įxternal music device interface (e.g., smart phone, MP3 player) Dealership replaced/repaired once before, and still having the same problem" I use the works because although I can see behind me, the camera shows me that the item behind me is about 5' away when it is actually about 5! I can only use it to see if ANYTHING is behind me. "The backup camera only works in the daytime. (2014 Buick Encore None 1.4-L 4 Cyl turbo) The body shop took quite awhile to diagnose that it was a sensor on front bumper covered in dirt" "There was a screeching noise when car was put in reverse.
